Professional Experience
For over 25 years, Asha Dhillon has represented a diverse range of clients — from Fortune 500 corporations to emerging small businesses — across all industries, including clients in the utilities, entertainment, staffing, hospitality, and financial sectors.
Ms. Dhillon concentrates her practice on employment litigation, handling the full spectrum of workplace disputes, including discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, misclassification, disability accommodation, joint employer liability, and wage and hour matters. She represents employers in both single-plaintiff and class actions, and she has extensive experience litigating claims under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the California Labor Code, including actions under the Private Attorneys General Act of 2004 (PAGA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the California Family Rights Act (CFRA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Before co-founding Turner Dhillon, Ms. Dhillon served as managing partner at a firm specializing in the defense of employment and consumer class actions, with an emphasis on financial services, insurance brokers, and other highly regulated businesses. Additionally, Ms. Dhillon practiced at a prominent entertainment litigation firm, where she developed deep relationships with production companies, authors, artists, podcasters, casting directors, and placement agencies. Ms. Dhillon continues to service these clients today, advising them on employment matters, general commercial disputes, actions before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, publishing rights, disputes concerning name, image, and likeness (NIL), and royalties.
Ms. Dhillon is an experienced trial lawyer who has served as lead counsel in both jury trials and arbitrations. At the same time, she recognizes that litigation is a means to an end, not an end in itself. She partners with each client from the outset to define clear objectives and craft a strategy designed to achieve the most favorable resolution — whether through aggressive advocacy in the courtroom or a well-negotiated settlement that makes business sense.
Beyond litigation, Ms. Dhillon provides proactive compliance counseling, conducts audits of employer practices, and drafts employment agreements, handbooks, and workplace policies to help her clients minimize risk before disputes arise. Ms. Dhillon also serves as outside general counsel for a major California brewery and a Los Angeles real estate investment group.
A native Angeleno, Ms. Dhillon is an avid food enthusiast who stays on top of the city's ever-evolving dining scene, from Michelin-rated restaurants to the best food trucks, and the newest restaurants featured on Eater L.A.'s Essential 38. When she is not in the office, she can be found watching basketball or enjoying live music under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl.
